What will the mobility of the future be like? Can you imagine cars that can face extreme cold without compromising their performance? Or safer, more sustainable and connected vehicles? The answer to all these questions now has a name, TRANSILIOT, a project in which we at NANOGAP are working hand in hand with other leading companies in the sector towards a common goal: to transform automotive technology. Together with MSTECH EUROPE, MAIER, ACCENT SYSTEMS and the applied research center TECNALIA, we have joined forces to develop innovative solutions that combine nanomaterials and flexible electronics, with a special focus on sustainability and circular economy.
What is TRANSILIOT?
The TRANSILIOT project arises as a response to global technological challenges, particularly those that threaten the field of semiconductors and microelectronics. In a context where the production of these components is highly dependent on other countries, this project seeks to make Spain more competitive and promote its leadership in research, development and innovation.
The objective of the project is clear: to promote new technologies in flexible heating electronics and nanomaterials to improve the efficiency, safety and technical reliability of systems applicable to the automotive industry and other industrial sectors. At NANOGAP, we couldn’t be more excited to do our part in the initiative, focusing on contributing our expertise in silver nanoparticles and transparent conductive inks, key elements for the creation of innovative solutions and which will be applied in flexible heating films used in the front end of vehicles.
This project is supported by the CDTI (Center for Industrial Technological Development) and is part of the Science and Innovation Missions Program, related to the PERTE of microelectronics and semiconductors. It is part of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2021-2023, in the context of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Objectives for a common project
TRANSILIOT’s development are focused on producing innovative technological solutions to drive flexible microelectronics and nanomaterials development, achieving significant advances in sustainability, efficiency and safety.
-
Development of New Transparent Conductive Inks:
The project aims to develop nano-inks with silver materials that, in addition to being conductive, are transparent. These inks will be the basis for manufacturing flexible heating films for automotive applications, offering a new solution that will improve visibility and safety in adverse weather conditions.
-
Improvement of Radar Detection Systems:
One of TRANSILIOT’s key innovations is the improvement of vehicle radar systems in extreme weather, such as cold or ice. The technologies developed will enable radars to operate more efficiently, reducing the possibility of failure in these conditions.
-
Sustainability and Circular Economy:
TRANSILIOT is committed to environmental sustainability. The materials used in the developed solutions will be designed for durability and reusability, thus promoting a circular economy. The research seeks to maximize the useful life of the components, contributing to the reduction of waste and the preservation of the environment.
-
Scalable and Efficient Production:
The goal is not only to innovate in the laboratory, but also to bring these technologies to industrial production. To this end, tools and manufacturing processes will be designed to enable efficient and cost-effective scalability, which will facilitate the adoption of these technologies at a commercial level soon.
Commitment al collaboration
But the impact of the TRANSILIOT project goes beyond research. Its development contributes directly to the advancement of the microelectronics industry in Spain and Europe, consolidating national competitiveness in a strategic sector such as semiconductors. Moreover, the integration of innovative and sustainable technologies ensures that the solutions developed have a positive economic and environmental impact.
At NANOGAP, we strongly believe that the TRANSILIOT project represents a unique opportunity to drive innovation in the field of flexible microelectronics and nanomaterials. We are committed to actively collaborate to achieve the goals of this ambitious project and contribute to the future of mobility, with solutions that improve safety, efficiency and sustainability.
TRANSILIOT is not only a bet on the technological future of the automotive industry, but also an example of how collaboration between leading companies and research centers can generate a real impact on society.
We invite you to stay tuned to our updates, as we will continue to share progress on this exciting project!
